Case, Dial and Hands
The Astronomia Casino comes in a standard Astronomia case that is reminiscent of an aquarium. Of note is the case surround, which is a single piece of sapphire crystal and has skeletonized lugs. Naturally, with such a stunning movement and display, you want to maximize visibility of what’s inside the case. And what’s inside the case is massive by watchmaking standards. The rose gold case measures 47mm in diameter and 27.9mm in height (no, that’s not a typo). Judging by these dimensions, the Astronomia Casino is clearly not meant to (or can be) tucked under a sleeve. Wearing this watch requires extreme caution to avoid getting violently stuck on a ledge. But as impressive as the case is, what's inside is even more amazing. It's entirely to the credit of the designer(s) of the Astronomia Casino that they paid full attention to how the Astronomia's four-arm movement fits in with the roulette theme. Each of the movement's four arms is studded with the signature Astronomia displays: a 1-carat, 288-faceted diamond, a magnesium-lacquered globe, an hour and minute subdial, and, of course, the bi-axial flying tourbillon. Movement
The power of the Astronomia Casino comes from the in-house hand-wound Caliber JCAM29A. The movement consists of 395 parts and 42 jewels, has a diameter of 41.40 mm and a thickness of 20.50 mm. The case of the Astronomia Casino has a solid caseback, so the movement cannot be seen through the caseback.
