1. Update the App Manually

The developers released a patch specifically targeting crash issues. Make sure you’re running the latest version.

Android: Open the Google Play Store, search for MLB The Show Companion App, and tap Update.

iOS: Open the App Store, tap your profile icon, and scroll to check for updates for MLB The Show.

Even if your app looks updated, manually forcing an update often fixes lingering bugs.

2. Clear App Cache and Data

Corrupted temporary files are a common cause of crashes.

Android: Go to Settings > Apps > MLB The Show 26 Companion App > Storage > Clear Cache.

iOS: iOS doesn’t offer a direct cache clear. Instead, delete and reinstall the app to remove temporary files.

Doing this can often stop random app closures immediately.

3. Adjust Permissions and Settings

The app needs certain permissions to run smoothly. Make sure these are set correctly:

Enable Location Services: The app requires location permissions for security and blackout verification.

Disable VPNs/Proxies: These can interfere with authentication and trigger crashes.

Re-Authenticate: Log out and log back in to refresh your session.

4. Avoid Problematic Menus

Some tabs are currently unstable in the 2026 app version. Until the next patch:

Don’t rapidly switch between Progress/XP Path and Collections screens.

Avoid the Face Scan feature on older devices—this is under investigation and may cause crashes.

If none of these steps help, reach out to the MLB The Show Support Team. Providing your device model and OS version will make it easier for them to pinpoint the problem.

By following these steps, most players can get their companion app running without crashes and get back to tracking stats, managing rosters, and enjoying Diamond Dynasty.
