MTA buses recorded just over 5 million trips last week between Monday, Aug. 31, when the fares returned, to Friday, Sept. 4, new data released by the agency shows. That was a 22% drop from the roughly 6.5 million bus riders the MTA reported during the previous work week, from Aug. 24 to Aug. 28.
