An aide-de-camp is a personal assistant to a senior military officer or head of state. They are usually appointed from the officer corps of the military and provide assistance with administrative tasks, ceremonial duties, and other duties as assigned by the senior officer. In some countries, they may also serve as an official spokesperson for the senior officer.
