Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is a scientific effort to detect intelligent life outside of Earth. SETI projects use a variety of methods to search for evidence of intelligent life, including radio telescopes, optical telescopes, and other technologies. SETI scientists are looking for signs of intelligent life in the form of narrow-bandwidth radio signals or other forms of electromagnetic radiation that are not naturally occurring.
