Marathon is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Bungie for the Apple Macintosh in 1994. It was Bungie's first major breakthrough and is considered one of the most influential games from the early days of the FPS genre. The game is set in an ancient alien civilization, and players take on the role of a security officer attempting to save humanity from an alien invasion. The game features a variety of weapons, enemies, and levels, as well as an interesting storyline. Marathon was followed by two sequels, Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity.
