The Ohio chemical disaster was a disaster that occurred on August 15, 1985 in the small town of Bhopal, India. On that night, a pesticide plant owned by Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) released an estimated 40 tons of methyl isocyanate (MIC) into the atmosphere.
